Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff had been struggling for the past few weeks, but, he was finally able to bounce back in Week 17. He finished the regular season with an efficient 15/26 for 199 yards and four touchdowns. He didn't put up the gaudy yardage totals we've seen earlier this year, but this day was more than good enough to achieve his expected value. Goff still has room to grow next year, but he is a burgeoning QB1 with head coach Sean McVay running the offense.
2 months ago: Jared Goff Slowed Down By Cardinals in Week 16
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff has not been himself over the last month and continues to put up mediocre fantasy performances. Goff finished 19-for-24 with 216 passing yards and one passing touchdown in the 31-9 victory over the Cardinals. Goff also rushed twice for six yards and a touchdown. It wasn't exactly a great fantasy performance by Goff, but better than he's been lately. Goff should have more upside against the 49ers in Week 17.
2 months ago: Jared Goff Struggles In Week 15 Loss
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff was one of the best and most consistent quarterbacks for the majority of the year, but he has struggled over the last month, including the team's Week 15 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. He had 339 yards with two interceptions to go with two carries for 11 yards. For whatever reason, Goff just hasn't looked as comfortable as of late. In Week 16, Goff gets a good matchup against the Arizona Cardinals who he had a great game against earlier in the season. The Cardinals have been exploited a lot in recent weeks, and Goff will likely finish as a QB2 next week.
2 months ago: Jared Goff Is Primed For An Improvement In Week 15
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff has had a brutal past couple of weeks. Against the Philadelphia Eagles this week, he has a big chance to get rolling again. The Eagles are 30th in the NFL in passing yards allowed this season, and their secondary has been ravaged by injuries. When Goff has played against the lower ranked passing defenses this season, he has typically taken advantage of them. The Rams offense just hasn't looked as explosive, and they will be looking to change that. Goff will be the driving force behind all of that.
2 months ago: Jared Goff Is Shut Down In Week 14
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff was looking to bounce back after Week 13's struggles, but things only got worse in Week 14 against the Chicago Bears. He finished the game 20-of-44 with 180 yards to go along with four interceptions. Goff was under constant pressure, as he was sacked three times to go along with seven quarterback hits. This is a worrisome sign to see from Goff, who has been somewhat inconsistent this season. When the Rams can't get their running game going, they rely on Goff, and he isn't able to handle that workload yet, as we saw tonight.
3 months ago: Jared Goff Has A Tough Matchup In Week 14
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff struggled in Week 13 against the Detroit Lions. On the road in Week 14 against the Chicago Bears, he faces one of the best defenses he has seen so far this season. The Bears have done a great job of causing turnovers this season, and, while Goff does a good job of taking care of the ball, expectations should be tempered for him this week. He does have plenty of weapons at his disposal, and this offense is always one of the best in the NFL, but Goff doesn't have the same high ceiling that we are used to with him. Goff should still be started in two-quarterback leagues, but he isn't a top option this week.
3 months ago: Jared Goff Struggles In Week 13
After looking like a borderline QB1 for much of the season, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff struggled mightily in Week 13. He finished the team's 30-16 win over the Detroit Lions 17 of 33 for 207 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Goff seemed to lack the same touch and velocity that we had become used to seeing from him so far this season. It's unlikely that his arm is worn out already, but it was still unsettling to see. With a strong chance to capture the top seed in the NFC, it's unlikely that the team will rest him down the stretch, but they may want to consider it to save him for what they are hoping is a Super Bowl title run.
3 months ago: Jared Goff Has Great Matchup Against Lions
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff is coming off a bye week and is ready for his matchup against the Detroit Lions in Week 13. Goff has thrown for 732 passing yards with six touchdowns and zero interceptions over his last two games. He's heading into a game against the Lions defense that struggles against the pass. Goff should be a reliable QB1 in Week 13.
3 months ago: Jared Goff Is Elite In Week 11
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff was a great play heading into Week 11, and he answered the call with his best game of the season. Goff finished with 413 yards, four passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown. He spread the ball around to a ton of receivers, and he was able to make up for a lack of production from running back Todd Gurley. He and the Rams are fighting for the number one overall seed in the NFC, and they are going to continue to need this production down the stretch. Goff continues to develop in head coach Sean McVay's, and it will be exciting to see how that changes moving forward.
3 months ago: Jared Goff Has Solid Matchup Against Chiefs
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff has a big game ahead of him against one of the best teams in the NFL on Monday night. Goff has thrown multiple touchdowns in each of the last four games. The Chiefs pass defense is shaky and has allowed seven passing touchdowns over their last five games. The loss of Cooper Kupp (knee) is a huge blow to the Rams offense, but Goff should remain a top-five QB1 regardless. It should be a shootout in Los Angeles, so Goff will have plenty of chances. Fantasy owners shouldn't have to worry about Goff this week.
3 months ago: Jared Goff Continues His Strong Play In Week 10
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff has played well all season long, and that continued in Week 10 against the Seattle Seahawks. In a game that saw the team's defense give up a number of points, Goff answered the call with 318 yards and two touchdowns. While the team doesn't always rely on Goff to carry the load, he shows in games like this that he has that ability when necessary. Goff gives you confidence every week when he's under center. He may not put up 40 points every week, but he gives you consistent production.
3 months ago: Jared Goff Has Good Value This Week
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff has had a good season thus far, and he looks to continue that this week. Last time out against the Seattle Seahawks, he threw for 321 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. This Seahawks defense has looked good this season despite losing multiple major contributors, but this Rams offense is always getting better. Goff got wide receiver, Cooper Kupp, back last week which gives him one more weapon to utilize. Following their loss to the New Orleans Saints, Goff and the Rams will be looking to bounce back, and he should do that. With four teams on a bye, Goff is a low-end QB1 with high-end QB1 upside.
4 months ago: Jared Goff Plays Well in Loss
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff had a fairly strong game against the Saints, but was unable to get the win. Goff finished 28-for-40 with 391 passing yards and three touchdowns with one interception. It was a shootout against Drew Brees and the Rams were unable to score in their final two possessions. Goff has now scored multiple times in three straight games. He'll be a QB1 against the Seahawks in Week 10.
4 months ago: Jared Goff Should Remain Solid Against the Saints
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff bounced back in Week 8 after two lackluster fantasy performances. Goff has not played overly well on the road this season. However, he heads into a matchup against the Saints who have allowed the third most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season, according to Yahoo. Goff doesn't have the highest ceiling this week, but he should remain valuable to fantasy owners in Week 9.
4 months ago: Jared Goff Solid In Week 8
Despite a slow start in Week 8, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff finished with a solid stat line. He had 295 yards and three touchdowns on the day. Goff looked a bit overwhelmed by the pressure early on, as he took three sacks on the team's first three drives. He settled in as the game wore on, and that was good to see looking towards the back end of the season. Goff and the Rams can lean on Gurley if they need to, but this game showed that Goff can carry them for stretches when he needs to. He's a good option moving forward
4 months ago: Jared Goff Has A Good Matchup In Week 8
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff has been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL this season. However, at times, he can fall prey to the effectiveness of running back Todd Gurley. When Gurley is running well and the team has a good lead, they are more than content to ride the hot hand. Against the Green Bay Packers this week, Goff has the ability to finish as a top-5 quarterback. The Packers offense can be one of the most prolific in football with quarterback Aaron Rodgers under center. This game has big shootout potential this week which could lead to a lot of points for Goff. Goff is a safe start this week with great upside.
4 months ago: Jared Goff Consistent In Week 7 Blowout
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff had a solid day in Week 7. He finished 18 of 24 for 202 yards with two touchdowns to go with two carries for four yards. Goff is a QB1 when the team gets into a shootout, but when the team thoroughly dominates as they did this week, it lowers his overall ceiling. He was accurate, and he took care of the ball, but he was nothing more than a game manager this week. If the team starts giving up more points, it raises the ceiling for Goff, but he is just a high-end QB2 with the dominant team around him.
4 months ago: Jared Goff Should Rebound Against 49ers
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff has been shaky over the last two games. He's only thrown one touchdown while throwing three interceptions over the last two weeks. Luckily, Goff is heading into a matchup against the 49ers defense that is allowing two passing touchdowns per game this season. This is the perfect spot for Goff to turn it around and get back to being a QB1.
4 months ago: Jared Goff is Held Scoreless
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff had his worst game of the season against the Denver Broncos in Week 6. Goff went 14-for-28 with 201 passing yards and zero touchdowns and one interception. This was the first time that Goff has not thrown at least one touchdown in a game this season. Goff has thrown one touchdown and three interceptions over his last two games. Fantasy owners shouldn't be worried as Goff should rebound nicely against the 49ers in Week 7.
4 months ago: Jared Goff Struggles In Week 6
After looking like a legitimate QB1 for the start of the season, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff came back down to Earth in Week 6 against the Denver Broncos. He finished 14 of 28 for 201 yards with one interception. He also had one carry for 14 yards. Weather was partially to blame for his poor performance, but this week showed that Goff is not matchup-proof. Goff and the Rams have a get-right game against the San Francisco 49ers next week, but this week was a big letdown for Goff's owners.
4 months ago: Jared Goff Looks To Get Back on Track
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff did not perform as expected in Week 5, but it was not all his fault. Goff lost two of his best receivers to concussions last week. Goff was still able to throw for over 300 yards, but did throw two interceptions as well. This week he'll face off against a Broncos defense that was held opposing quarterbacks to a single touchdown over the last four games. Goff will be a back-end QB1 for this contest.
5 months ago: Jared Goff Has Ugly Performance Against Seahawks
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff was able to help his team pull off the win, but it wasn't pretty. Goff went 23-for-32 with 321 passing yards and one touchdown with two interceptions. However, Goff was able to get over 300 passing yards for the fourth consecutive week. To be fair, Goff did lose receivers Brandin Cooks and Cooper Kupp to concussions. It's tough to imagine Goff having much success without either receiver next week, so fantasy owners should just wait and see what happens.
5 months ago: Jared Goff Has Strong Matchup Against Seattle
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff has thrown for at least 354 yards and is averaging three touchdowns over the last three games, according to Yahoo. The Rams have if not the best, one of the best wide receiver trios in the league. Goff will have a matchup against a Seahawks defense that allowed an average of 265 yards and 2.5 TDs to Case Keenum and Mitchell Trubisky, according to Yahoo. Goff should excel against the Seahawks secondary in Week 5.
5 months ago: Jared Goff A QB1 Moving Forward
Los Angeles Rams' quarterback Jared Goff was viewed as a system quarterback after last year's breakout under first-year head coach Sean McVay. However, he's proving this year that if he is indeed a system quarterback, then he's one of the best ever as he is on pace to set and break multiple records. His efficiency and accuracy with his playmakers make him one of the most dangerous quarterbacks in the NFL right now, and as displayed against the Minnesota Vikings, he can score from anywhere on the field at any time. As a result, he should be firmly locked in as a QB1 in all formats moving forward this season.
5 months ago: Jared Goff Throws 5 TDs in Victory
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff had an incredible game against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4. Goff went 26-for-33 with 465 yards and five touchdowns without an interception in the 38-31 victory over the Vikings. Heading into that game the Vikings had only allowed their opponents to score one touchdown in each game. Clearly Goff and his receivers were on the same page Thursday night. Goff and the 4-0 Rams will head to Seattle next week. Goff should continue to succeed there.
5 months ago: Jared Goff Could Struggle Against Vikings
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff has been reliable through the first three weeks of the season. However, he goes up against a Vikings defense on Thursday that has allowed only one touchdown pass in each game this season. It's not that Goff is a bad fantasy option, but he likely won't have as much success as he did in the weeks prior. DFS players should likely opt to use another quarterback this week.
5 months ago: Jared Goff Goes Big On Sunday
After putting up a lot of yards but no touchdowns last week, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff turned their red-zone trips into scores this week. He finished the day with 354 yards and three touchdowns. If it weren't for an interception in the end zone, his stat line would have been even gaudier. Goff had some throws that were incredibly placed, and they showed his continued development as one of the better quarterbacks in this league. Goff isn't quite a top-10 lock every week, but he inches closer and closer with the performances he has put up the past couple weeks.
5 months ago: Jared Goff Should Excel in Week 3
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff has put together two respectable performances through the first two weeks of the regular season. He now heads into a contest against a Chargers defense that's allowed 2.5 passing touchdowns per contest. The Chargers are also without Joey Bosa, so that just adds insult to injury. Goff is averaging almost 300 yards a game, so he should have no problem doing it again in Week 3.
5 months ago: Jared Goff Impressive In Win Over Cardinals
The Los Angeles Rams defense was elite in a shutout win over the Arizona Cardinals. Quarterback Jared Goff wasn't too shabby either. He threw for 354 yards with a touchdown with one interception. The Rams offense should be among the best in the NFL, which makes Goff a good option each week. He has three strong receivers in Robert Woods, Brandin Cooks and Cooper Kupp while running back Todd Gurley is a good receiver out of the backfield. This gives Goff a multitude of weapons to use. He can be matchup-dependent at times, as blowouts could favor Gurley. The Rams draw the Los Angeles Chargers next week. The Chargers have been gashed both weeks this season, so Goff should be another strong play.
6 months ago: Jared Goff Should Be Reliable in Week 1
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff faces off against the Oakland Raiders in Week 1. Goff has new weapon Brandin Cooks along with Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods, and Todd Gurley from last season. The Rams are loaded on offense, so Goff should have no excuse in Week 1. The Raiders defense gave up the seventh most fantasy points to quarterbacks last season, according to Yahoo. They also just traded their best defensive player in Khalil Mack. Goff has an above average matchup versus Oakland this week. He should be considered a QB1.
6 months ago: Jared Goff Will Not Play In Preseason Finale
For the last few weeks, there was some debate whether Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff would play in the preseason. It's become clear that he will not, as both he and backup Sean Mannion will be resting this weekend. Goff will be playing in Week 1 alongside superstar running back Todd Gurley. Goff has top-10 QB upside this season in Year 2 of head coach Sean McVay's offense.
6 months ago: Jared Goff Likely Won't Play Saturday
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff is likely going to sit out the third preseason game against the Houston Texans on Saturday. Head coach Sean McVay has already committed to sitting running back Todd Gurley. There is a good chance that Goff does not see any action which is odd for starters to sit out three straight preseason games. Sean Mannion and Brandon Allen are battling for the backup QB role. However, neither player is going to have any fantasy value unless Goff gets injured.
7 months ago: Cooper Kupp Has Been Jared Goff's Go-To Guy
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp was unstoppable in the team's joint practice with the Ravens on Tuesday and has been the go-to guy for quarterback Jared Goff in 11-on-11 drills. Kupp was a matchup problem for Baltimore and remains in line for a lot of targets in this offense. He and Goff have something special going in terms of chemistry. Kupp had a brilliant rookie season and was often Goff's safety blanket in the red zone. Even with the addition of Brandin Cooks, Kupp should be a solid WR3 with plenty of upside in an improving offense.
1 year ago: Jared Goff Quiet in Loss to Falcons
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff headed into Saturday's contest against the Atlanta Falcons with 3,804 passing yards and 28 touchdowns on the season. He put together an incredible sophomore campaign, but the rookie mistakes are still there. Goff completed 24 of 45 passes for 259 yards and one touchdown in the 26-13 loss to the Falcons. Goff was inaccurate throughout most of the game, and failed to connect with anyone not named Robert Woods or Cooper Kupp. Goff improved greatly this season, but if he's truly going to be a franchise quarterback more improvements need to be made next season.
1 year ago: Jared Goff is Reliable Option Against Falcons
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff has put together an absolutely incredible campaign. He finished with 3804 passing yards, and 28 passing touchdowns with just seven interceptions. He sat out in Week 17, but dropped 301 yards and four TDs on the Titans in Week 16. He's still learning and is going to make mistakes, but his upside is too great. Goff is worth owning in fantasy leagues this weekend. Don't expect him to be perfect, but if he finds his groove it'll pay off for fantasy owners.
1 year ago: Jared Goff Throws 4 TDs in Victory
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff had an excellent game against the Tennessee Titans in Week 16. Goff completed 22 of 38 passes for 301 yards and four touchdowns in the 27-23 victory. He did most of the damage in the first half, completing 13 of 18 passes for 229 yards and two touchdowns. Goff now has 28 touchdowns on the season which is the most by a Rams QB since Kurt Warner in 2001. He now heads into a game against the red-hot 49ers in Week 17.
1 year ago: Jared Goff Should Bounce Back Against Titans
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff was kept to just 120 passing yards against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 15. He didn't need to do much with Todd Gurley and the Rams defense controlling the game. Goff now has a 15:3 touchdown-to-interception ratio over his last seven games. He should bounce back against the Titans in Week 16. The Titans struggle to defend the passing game, so we could be looking at a big game for Goff and the Rams receivers.
1 year ago: Jared Goff is Quiet in Victory Over Seattle
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff was kept quiet in the 42-7 victory over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 15. Goff completed 14 of 21 passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns with one interception. The Rams defense and running back Todd Gurley did most of the work against Seattle. Goff has a 15:3 touchdown-to-interception ratio over his last seven games. He should get back to being a reliable QB1 against the Tennessee Titans in Week 16.
1 year ago: Jared Goff Is Risky QB1 in Week 15
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff is a risky option against a tough Seattle Seahawks pass defense in Week 15. It's the same defense that kept Goff to 288 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions in Week 5. Goff has a 13:2 touchdown-to-interception ratio over the last six games, but Seattle has allowed the ninth fewest points to QBs, according to Yahoo Sports. The Seahawks defense is weaker since the last time these two teams met, but don't consider Goff an elite option this week.
1 year ago: Jared Goff Starts Hot, But Struggles Late in Loss
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff started off the game hot, but gradually cooled down and had just 10 yards in the final quarter. He completed 16-of-26 passes for 199 yards, with two touchdowns and zero interceptions. He lost a fumble at his own 35-yard line that hurt the Rams significantly. Goff has been fantastic this season, so we'll cut him some slack in this one. LT Andrew Whitworth could be looking at a multiple game absence which would be a huge blow to the Rams o-line. Goff is a risky QB1 option against Seattle in Week 15.
1 year ago: Jared Goff Is Low End QB1
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff will go up against a Philadelphia Eagles defense that has allowed the 11th fewest points to quarterbacks this season, according to Yahoo Sports. Goff has a 11:2 touchdown to interception ratio over his last five games. Goff and the Rams offense have been clicking all season, so this game will be a test for the Rams. Russell Wilson scored three touchdowns on the Eagles in Week 13. Goff should be a low-end QB1 this week.
1 year ago: Jared Goff Plays Well in Win
Los Angles Rams quarterback Jared Goff played well in the Week 13 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. It wasn't the breakout performance we were expecting, but it was a solid fantasy game. Goff completed 21 of 31 passes for 220 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. The Rams did a nice job mixing it up and keeping the Cardinals guessing on Sunday. Goff continues to play consistent, but will face a tough challenge in Week 14 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
1 year ago: Jared Goff Looks To Continues Success Against Cardinals
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff has become an elite NFL QB overnight it seems. He completed 28 of 43 passes for 354 yards and two touchdowns against the New Orleans Saints in Week 12. His lone interception was on a ball that tipped off receiver Sammy Watkins' hand and was caught by the Saints. He hasn't be perfect this season, but Goff's 9:1 touchdown-to-interception ratio over the last four games is impressive. Continue to lean on Goff in fantasy right now.
1 year ago: Jared Goff Plays Well in Victory Over Saints
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff played well in the 26-20 win over the New Orleans Saints. This was a big win for the Rams and a nice confidence boost for the young quarterback. He completed 28 of 43 passes for 354 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. He didn't make too many mistakes, and the one interception came off a tipped ball that bounced off receiver Sammy Watkins' hands. The Rams were without top option Robert Woods (shoulder), but the Saints didn't have their top corners. Goff made the most of his chances and is set up for another strong game against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 13.
1 year ago: Jared Goff Remains QB1 Against Saints
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff heads into a big game against the tough New Orleans Saints defense in Week 12. Goff struggled last week completing 23-of-37 passes for 225 yards without a touchdown or interception. The Rams are without receiver Robert Woods and that could hinder some of the Rams passing attack. Goff is still posting a 16:4 touchdown to interception ratio, so it's hard to overlook his talent despite heading into a difficult matchup.
1 year ago: Jared Goff Fails to Capitalize in Week 11
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff came back down to Earth in the Week 11 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Goff was on fire in his last two games heading into Week 11, but the Vikes kept him grounded. Goff completed 23 of 37 passes for 225 yards with zero touchdowns and zero interceptions. It was a quiet game for Goff, who failed to throw a passing touchdown for the first time since Week 5. He would've had a passing touchdown, but wide receiver Cooper Kupp fumbled it at the two-yard line. Goff will be in line for another tough game against the New Orleans Saints in Week 12.
1 year ago: Jared Goff Is A QB1 in Week 11
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff must be considered a QB1 after having back-to-back phenomenal games. Goff completed 25 of 37 passes for 355 yards and three touchdowns in the 33-7 victory over the Texans in Week 10. Goff has now gone over 300 yards in two straight games, and has seven touchdowns with zero interceptions during that time. Even in a tough matchup against the Vikings, Goff needs to be considered a QB1 in Week 11.
1 year ago: Jared Goff Continues to Impress in Week 10
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff continued his impressive season with a monstrous game against the Houston Texans in Week 10. Goff completed 25-of-37 passes for 355 yards and three touchdowns with zero interceptions. It was a slow start for Goff, but he caught fire in the second half. Goff has now gone over 300 passing yards in back-to-back games with seven touchdowns and no interceptions. He'll be up against a tough Vikings defense in Week 11, but he's still a solid QB1.
1 year ago: Jared Goff is A QB1 Against Texans
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff had an incredible game against the New York Giants last week. He completed 14-of-22 passes for 311 yards and four touchdowns. He was pulled in the fourth quarter otherwise he could've increased those stats. Goff goes up against a Texans defense that has allowed the 4th most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season according to Yahoo Sports. It's hard to imagine Goff producing the same way he did against the Giants, but he should be in line for a good game in Week 10.
1 year ago: Jared Goff Has Incredible Week 9
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff had an absolutely incredible Week 9 performance against the New York Giants. Goff completed 14-of-22 passes for 311 yards and four touchdowns. Sean Mannion came in for Goff in the fourth quarter otherwise he might have put up even more against the horrendous Giants secondary. It was a career day for the young QB, and a much needed confidence boost. Keep Goff rolling against the not so great Texans pass defense in Week 10.
1 year ago: Jared Goff in QB1 Mix on Sunday
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff has one of the most favorable matchups of the season coming up. He'll face off with a Giants defense that has given up 258.7 passing yards per game this season. Goff completed 22-of-37 passes for 235 yards and one touchdown with one interception in Week 7. Goff hasn't been a great fantasy option this year besides his three touchdown game versus San Francisco. This week could possibly be his next biggest game of the year. He should be in the QB1 mix for Week 9 against a shaky Giants secondary.
1 year ago: Jared Goff Improves in Victory Over Arizona
Heading into Week 7, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff was coming off back-to-back duds in fantasy. He performed much better against the Cardinals on Sunday, but there is still more work to be done. Goff completed 22-of-37 passes for 235 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the 33-0 victory. He also had a nine-yard touchdown on a read option-play. The Rams have a bye week now, but Goff could be an interesting option against the Giants, but the lack of efficiency in the red zone is a problem.
1 year ago: Jared Goff Struggles Against Seattle
On Sunday, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff entered play with a 7:1 touchdown-to-interception ratio. He was one of the hottest players this season, and looked like he was headed towards a breakout campaign. That was until he went up against the notorious Seattle defense. Goff completed 22-of-47 passes for 288 yards with zero touchdowns and two interceptions. To make matters worse Goff also fumbled in the game, and both interceptions were completely his fault and could've easily been avoided. It appears Goff still has some growing to do before he can be considered a weekly option in fantasy. Despite his struggles Goff did almost manage to lead the Rams to victory, but rookie receiver Cooper Kupp dropped the game winning score. Goff faces a dangerous Jaguars defense in Week 6, and you'll likely want to keep him on the bench for that one as well.
1 year ago: Jared Goff Reaches New Heights
In a shootout on Thursday night, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff got to show off how much he's improved since last season. Goff finished the night 22-for-28 with three passing TDs and 292 yards through the air. Goff spread the ball around, but he regularly turned to Sammy Watkins and Robert Woods as they abused their respective defenders throughout the game. Seven different receivers caught passes, and Goff looked comfortable all day behind his offensive line. With Sean McVay's new uptempo offense, he's pushing Goff's limits, but Goff seems to be living up to expectations so far.
1 year ago: Jared Goff Regresses In Week 2
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff got everyone worked up with his banner performance in Week 1 against the Colts, but he came back down to Earth hard against Washington on Sunday. Goff was just 15-for-25 for 224 yards with a touchdown and a back-breaking interception. The interception came as Goff was trying to lead the team downfield in the final two minutes of the game, and it sealed his team's fate. Goff was also bailed out by wide receiver Cooper Kupp after he made an incredible acrobatic catch on a to-be-intercepted pass that was thrown as Kupp fell down, and most of Goff's stats came from delivering checkdowns to Todd Gurley and letting him turn them into big gains. Goff will need to find a way to bring more of what he had Week 1 and leave this week behind him in the future.
1 year ago: Jared Goff Shines In Week 1
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff got a monkey off his back in a big way against the Colts. The blowout win over Indianapolis was Goff's first win as a starter in the NFL, and he looked like he was ready for the big time in it. Goff went 21 for 29 for 306 yards and one touchdown against an Indy defense that looked absolutely overwhelmed throughout. Goff showed what he can do with a mostly clean pocket, and if the offensive line can provide him with that much time regularly, he has huge potential. However, this game was also a bit of a fluke in that Goff was basically playing against a practice squad. Future weeks will show whether this was the start of something great or just a single great thing.
1 year ago: Jared Goff Struggles Against Chargers
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff had a rough game on Saturday night even though he was only in for two series. In his first drive, he led the Rams starters into the red zone, but he was then strip-sacked by Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa. The sack came from his right side, but Goff showed no sign of having seen Bosa closing on him. The sack would result in a fumble recovery for a Chargers touchdown. On his second and final drive, Goff threw an ugly, wobbly deep pass that was easily intercepted as it was closer to three Chargers defenders than any Rams receivers. Goff remains inconsistent, and though he mixed in a couple nice passes to Robert Woods and Malcolm Brown, his mistakes were back-breaking.
1 year ago: Jared Goff More Protected In Pocket
The Los Angeles Rams offense may be a real sleeper for the 2017 season as improvements are being noted across the board, and one of the most important ones is that quarterback Jared Goff is telling everyone about how much better his offensive line has gotten. The replacement of Greg Robinson with Andre Whitworth at left tackle seems to have made a dramatic improvement already, and Goff is singing their praises. Combined with Todd Gurley's more patient approach and the addition of Sammy Watkins, Goff may be primed for a breakout season.
2 years ago: Jared Goff Looks Like Seasoned Veteran
The Los Angeles Rams have to be pleased with how second-year quarterback Jared Goff played on Saturday against the Raiders. Goof completed 16 passes in 20 attempts for 160 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions in just under half a game. After there were constant reports of his struggles in practice this week, it was a great day for Goff and the Rams. As always, these are just preseason numbers, but good performances like this are always encouraging.
2 years ago: Jared Goff Sharp In Training Camp
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff has been getting good reviews in training camp so far, and he was particularly sharp on Sunday. Goff showed notable chemistry with wide receiver Robert Woods, and team reporter Myles Simmons said there was notable improvement from Day 1 to Day 2. While Goff isn't yet a main target for fantasy purposes, he's still a young QB with a lot of upside and could be in for a breakout year.
2 years ago: Jared Goff Learning New Offense Quickly
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff has had a good grasp of the offense that is being installed by new head coach Sean McVay this offseason. Goff said he's learned this offense "much quicker" than last year's. His teammates are also noticing more confidence and conviction in him, and he seems to be picking the playbook up quickly. The 22-year-old Goff looked way overmatched in his rookie season, completing 54.6 percent of his passes for 1,089 yards, five touchdowns and seven interceptions in seven games. It's a good sign that he's looking more confident heading into his sophomore campaign, but there are bound to be ups and downs for Goff as he learns this new offense. He's a backup fantasy QB with upside in keeper/dynasty leagues.
2 years ago: Jared Goff Adds Weight In Offseason
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff said that he's now up to 220 pounds this offseason after being listed at 215 pounds in the media guide in 2017. He feels that 220 pounds is his ideal playing weight, and the added muscle should help him stay upright in the pocket more after he was sacked 26 times in just seven starts in his rookie season. Goff still has plenty of long-term upside, but he faces another challenge in learning new head coach Sean McVay's system in his sophomore season. There should be some improvement, but expect a lot of inconsistency again. Goff is, at best, a backup fantasy quarterback in redraft leagues.
2 years ago: Jared Goff Looking More Comfortable
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff looks much improved during organized team activities, and head coach Sean McVay said he has been "very pleased" with what Goff has done "above the neck." Goff's teammates are also seeing more confidence and conviction in the sophomore QB. "More confident, more relaxed, more poised in the pocket, receiver Mike Thomas said. "Jared is our guy; we have a lot of confidence in what he's done," McVay said. Goff has immersed himself in the offense this offseason and looks poised to improve on what was a very trying rookie season. The long-term upside is there, but the 22-year-old may struggle with inconsistency again in 2017 while he gets on the same page with a new head coach. Goff is merely a QB2 until further notice.
2 years ago: Jared Goff Working With QB Coaches
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff has been working with quarterback coaches Tom House and Adam Dedeaux this offseason. House has worked with notable quarterbacks like Matt Ryan, Drew Brees and Tom Brady, among others. Goff struggled mightily in his rookie season in seven games to close the year, tallying the fewest yards per attempt (5.31) and posting the second worst total QBR (22.2), fourth worst completion percentage (54.6) and fourth lowest touchdown-to-interception ratio (0.71). Goff looked way overmatched last year, but he's still young and has plenty of physical ability to improve, especially under the new coaching staff. It'd be premature to expect a big leap in his second season, though, at least until the Rams can put a better crop of playmakers around Goff. He's a QB2 with upside in 2017.
2 years ago: Rams QB Coach High On Jared Goff
Los Angeles Rams new quarterbacks coach Greg Olson is high on quarterback Jared Goff and what the two can accomplish together. Olson thinks Goff's ceiling is "really high" and sees "tremendous arm talent" in the young quarterback. Goff will also be working with offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur, who helped develop Robert Griffin III in his amazing rookie year and Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan last year. Goff only played seven games in his rookie season and looked very overmatched. A quarterback that never took a snap under center in college, Goff had a 54.6 completion percentage, five touchdowns and seven interceptions. He has the upside, though, and the new coaching staff around him is an upgrade. However, until the Rams put better passing weapons around him, Goff's ceiling is rather low, making him no better than a low-end QB2 with upside.
