Recent Player News

2 days ago: Julian Edelman Has WR2/3 Appeal In Week 15
New England Patriot wide receiver Julian Edelman will have plenty of PPR-value in Week 15 against the Steelers. Pittsburgh's defense is allowing the 14th fewest fantasy points to opposing receivers this season but Edelman has been a consistent presence since returning from his suspension. He has 56 receptions in nine games played this season and should be active in this pivotal matchup. The Steelers have allowed only three touchdowns to receivers since Week 9 but Edelman should still have plenty of fantasy appeal, especially in PPR-leagues for Week 15.

6 days ago: Julian Edelman Leads Patriots With Nine Receptions
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman caught nine passes for 86 yards, including a three-yard touchdown catch, in the team's shocking 34-33 loss to the Dolphins. Edelman enjoyed a highly active first half and it was a pleasant surprise for fantasy owners to see Edelman targeted in the red zone. The veteran receiver now has four touchdowns on the season to go along with 56 receptions, 622 yards through nine games played and will remain on the WR2/3 fantasy radar for the remainder of the season.

11 days ago: Julian Edelman A Low-Ceiling WR2 For Week 14
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman will go up against a Dolphins defense in Week 14 that has allowed the 12th fewest fantasy points to opposing receivers this season. Miami has allowed only five touchdowns to receivers in their six home games and Edelman has caught only one touchdown over his last five games. The veteran slot receiver still is a huge part of the offense (47 receptions in eight games) but the Patriots do not feature him at all in the red zone offense. Edelman should have an active game but his ceiling, from a fantasy perspective, should be capped as no more than a WR2 for Week 14.

13 days ago: Julian Edelman Registers 60 Yards From Scrimmage
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman caught three passes for 25 yards and added 35 rushing yards in the Patriots Week 13 win over the Vikings. Edelman took two reverse hand-offs for some much-needed first downs but struggled to get open at times during the game. He caught only three passes on eight targets as quarterback Tom Brady tried to fit some passes into tight windows. Edelman is a integral asset to the Patriots offense but is no more than a possession receiver at this time. His best fantasy value is in PPR-leagues right now as the team gets ready to take on the Dolphins in Week 14.

16 days ago: Julian Edelman Has PPR Value In Week 13
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman will go up against a fast and fierce Vikings defense in Week 13. Edelman is having a solid season, totaling 44 receptions for 510 yards and three touchdowns through seven games. He will have a tough task, however, against a Vikings defense that has not allowed a single 100-plus yard receiving game to a receiver not on the Rams this season. Outside of the Rams game, the Vikings have allowed only four touchdowns to receivers all season. Edelman is a safety valve from the slot position for quarterback Tom Brady but could struggle to post yards after the catch against a swarming Minnesota secondary. Edelman has value in PPR-leagues but fantasy owners need to temper expectations for a player who becomes practically non-existent in the red zone. Edelman is a WR3 with upside in Week 13.

20 days ago: Julian Edelman Finds End Zone Against Jets
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman caught four passes for 84 yards, including a 20-yard touchdown, in the Patriots 27-13 win over the Jets. Edelman got the Patriots offense going on the first drive, hauling in a 36-yard pass from quarterback Tom Brady. He later caught a pass in the second half and ran it 20 yards for a score that put the game away. Edelman numbers this season have been solid, if unspectacular, and now has three touchdowns on the season. The veteran can be expected to generate four-to-six catches with 50-90 receiving yards per week moving towards the fantasy playoffs.

26 days ago: Julian Edelman Has Solid Matchup Against Jets
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman will have a favorable matchup against a Jets defense that is allowing the sixth most fantasy points to opposing receivers. Edelman has been a PPR-darling since returning from his four-game suspension and has 40 receptions for 426 yards with two touchdowns through six games. He has been very active in each of the games he has played this season but has struggled, at times, springing free for huge gains after the catch. He has been a solid safety valve for Tom Brady from the slot and will play a Jets defense that has allowed nine touchdowns to receivers over their last seven games. Edelman has plenty of value in PPR-leagues but fantasy owners need to be aware that he is rarely targeted in the red zone. Edelman will be a safe play as a WR2/3 for Week 12.

1 month ago: Julian Edelman's Injury Not Serious
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman's (ankle) injury is not considered serious and he's not expected to miss much time, if any, according to a source. Edelman rewarded his fantasy owners with nine catches on a season-high 12 targets for 104 yards in the Week 10 loss to the Titans. He left in the fourth quarter with the game well out of hand. New England has their bye in Week 11, so we'd expect Edelman to be good to go for Week 11 against the Jets, barring a setback. He has had double-digit targets each of the last three games, making him a WR2 moving forward.

1 month ago: Julian Edelman Finished With 104 Yards In Loss
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman caught nine passes for 104 yards in the Patriots 34-10 loss to the Titans. Edelman put up another huge performance but did not finish the game because of injury. It is unclear what the nature of the injury is but it appeared that Edelman was favoring his ankle as he made his way to the locker room in the fourth quarter. His status will have to monitored heading into Week 11 and his absence would be a huge loss for the Patriots offense. Edelman now has 24 receptions over his last three games.

1 month ago: Julian Edelman Has WR2 Appeal Against Titans
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman will go up against a Titans defense that is allowing the eighth most fantasy points to opposing receivers. Edelman hasn't missed a beat this season since returning from his four-game suspension and has 31 receptions for 322 yards in only five games. The Titans defense has allowed 11 touchdowns to receivers through eight games and have surrendered nine or more fantasy points to 12 different receivers this season. Edelman is one of quarterback Tom Brady's favorite targets and always is among the team leaders in targets per game. Edelman is a solid WR2 choice in Week 10.

1 month ago: Julian Edelman Posts 127 All-Purpose Yards In Week 9
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman was a 'jack of all trades' in the Patriots 31-17 win over the Packers. Edelman caught six passes for 71 yards, rushed twice for 28 yards and even threw the ball to running back James White for a 37-yard pass. Edelman was targeted 10 times in the game as he struggled, at times, connecting with quarterback Tom Brady. But the Patriots found multiple ways to involve him as he continues to post solid, if unspectacular, fantasy stat-lines. Edelman is sure-fire WR2 heading into Week 10.

1 month ago: Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon Will Play Against Packers
New England Patriots wide receivers Julian Edelman (ankle) and Josh Gordon (hamstring) are both active on Sunday night against the Patriots. In a likely shootout with tight end Rob Gronkowski (ankle, back) inactive, both Edelman and Gordon should be big parts of this passing attack. Edelman is a WR2 in PPR leagues, while Gordon has WR2 upside in standard-scoring formats. Chris Hogan will also benefit with Gronk out, but he's more of a touchdown-dependent WR4.

1 month ago: Sony Michel, Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman Questionable
New England Patriots rookie running back Sony Michel (knee), tight end Rob Gronkowski (back, ankle) and wide receivers Julian Edelman (ankle), Josh Gordon (hamstring) and Cordarrelle Patterson (neck) are all questionable for Sunday night against the Packers. Michel is the only one that is truly questionable, as all the others should be fine to play. With the game being Sunday night, it's hard to rely on Michel in starting lineups, but he'll be a high-end RB2 if he suits up in a likely shootout. Gronk hasn't been 100 percent but should play. He'll be looking to break out of a touchdown drought since Week 1. Edelman had the best game of his season in Week 8 and remains quarterback Tom Brady's favorite weapon. He's a must-start in PPR leagues. Gordon could easily break out in this game and is firmly in play as a WR3 with upside. Patterson was surprisingly involved in the running game on Monday but will go back to a reserve role if Michel returns. He's not a realistic starting option in fantasy anyway.

1 month ago: Julian Edelman Back At Practice Thursday
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman (ankle, illness) returned to practice on Thursday after sitting out on Wednesday. Edelman will be just fine for Week 9 against the Packers in what is expected to be a shootout on Sunday night. The 32-year-old had a season-high nine catches on 10 targets for 104 yards in Week 8 and looks to be hitting full stride in his fourth game back from suspension. Start Edelman with confidence in PPR leagues.

1 month ago: Julian Edelman Has Beatable Matchup Against Packers
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman is coming off his best game of the season heading into a Week 9 tilt against the Packers. Edelman's nine-catch, 104-yard performance last week came without a touchdown but will have a great shot at the end zone against a defense that has allowed 12 touchdowns to receivers through eight games. Green Bay has done a solid job limiting passing yards on defense but can be exploited in the red zone against elite offenses. Edelman is a solid WR2 choice in Week 9 and should once again thrive in PPR-leagues.

1 month ago: Julian Edelman Misses Practice Wednesday
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman (ankle, illness) did not practice on Wednesday. Edelman doesn't seem to be in any danger of missing the potential Week 9 shootout on Sunday night against the Packers, so he's likely being rested early in the week. The 32-year-old was one of quarterback Tom Brady's favorite targets Monday night, catching a season-high nine passes on 10 targets for 104 yards. He hasn't had fewer than seven targets in his four games and should remain heavily involved in an offense with many mouths to feed. Edelman is a must-start in PPR leagues.

2 months ago: Julian Edelman Leads Patriots With 104 Receiving Yards
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman caught nine passes for 104 yards in the Patriots 25-6 win over the Bills. With running back Sony Michel sidelined the Patriots took to the air as quarterback Tom Brady connected with Edelman consistently for first downs. After missing the entire 2017 season and the first four games of 2018 due to a suspension, Edelman has picked up right where he left off as a fantasy monster specifically in PPR-leagues. The veteran will have again have low-end WR1 value next week against a vulnerable Packers secondary.

2 months ago: Julian Edelman Has PPR-Appeal Against Bills
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman should continue to rack up receptions against a tough Bills secondary in Week 8. Buffalo is allowing the third fewest fantasy points to opposing wide receivers but Edelman has scored touchdowns in each of his last two games. Quarterback Tom Brady loves to pepper Edelman in the slot for intermediate gains and the veteran receiver should be targeted often in the red zone. Edelman's career numbers against the Bills are a bit disappointing, posting only 45 receptions for 398 yards and five touchdowns in 12 games played. But Edelman will be a solid WR2/3 selection, especially in PPR-leagues, as the Patriots should win this game by several scores.

2 months ago: Julian Edelman Catches Touchdown In Win
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman caught five passes for 36 yards, including a first-quarter touchdown, in the Patriots win over the Bears. Edelman was involved early on the first drive and provided some excellent push to find pay dirt for his second touchdown of the season. He seemed to disappear later in the game and almost lost a fumble on a punt but the veteran can always be counted on to make a play at some point. Edelman will continue to be one of the top targets in the Patriots offense moving forward.

2 months ago: Sony Michel, Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon Active
New England Patriots rookie running back Sony Michel (knee) and wide receivers Julian Edelman (heel) and Josh Gordon (hamstring) are all active in Week 7 against the Bears. Michel has been a high-end RB2 over the past several weeks and should remain that way as the team's early-down back. Edelman and Gordon will have expanded roles in the passing game with Rob Gronkowski (ankle, back) ruled out. Edelman is a must-start, while Gordon is a safe play as a WR3.

2 months ago: Julian Edelman Expected To Play Against Chicago
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman (heel) should play against the Bears on Sunday. Since returning from suspension, the veteran wideout has caught only 11 receptions for 111 yards and a score throughout two games. However, with tight end Rob Gronkowski (back) not expected to play, expect him to see a sizable uptake in targets in Week 7.

2 months ago: Julian Edelman Lands On Injury Report
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman (heel) is on the injury report this week and was limited in practice on Wednesday. The Pats usually list most of their playmakers on the injury report, but they usually play. Edelman didn't appear to be injured on Sunday night, so he should be fine for his third game of the season this Sunday against Chicago. He's caught 11 of his 16 targets the past two weeks for 111 yards and a touchdown, so he'll be a must-start in fantasy leagues, especially in PPR formats.

2 months ago: Julian Edelman Will Have Plenty Of PPR-Appeal Against Bears
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman has 11 catches for 111 yards and one touchdown through the first two games he's played this season. Edelman will have a favorable matchup this Sunday against a Bears secondary that is allowing the fifth most fantasy points to opposing receivers this season. They have allowed six receiving touchdowns and five different receivers have posted more than 88 yards against them through five games. Edelman has been a positive addition to the Patriots offense, adding a new dynamic for quarterback Tom Brady to choose from. Edelman should have WR2/3 appeal, especially in PPR-leagues, in Week 7.

2 months ago: Julian Edelman Praises Josh Gordon
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman believes that Josh Gordon can be a huge weapon for this team. "Dude works hard, great teammates," Edelman told reporters Thursday, via the Patriots' official website. "I really think he can be a really big piece for us. Gordon has played just 36 snaps on offense in the last two games but has four receptions for 82 yards and a touchdown on six targets. The Pats have a lot of mouths to feed in this offense, though, so it may take a while before Gordon becomes a consistent part of the game plan. Chris Hogan (thigh) may not play Sunday night, though, which would free up some extra work for Gordon.

2 months ago: Julian Edelman Should Gobble Up Targets In Week 6
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman enjoyed a successful return to the lineup in Week 5 with seven receptions for 57 yards. Edelman's legs looked fresh and didn't appear to miss a beat functioning in the Patriots complicated offense. The veteran receiver will go up against a Chiefs defense that is allowing the 16th fewest fantasy points to opposing receivers this season. After a tough start to the season the Chiefs secondary has played better in the past few weeks but they have not played a potent offense like New England's since Week 2. Edelman's value is best utilized in PPR-leagues but should be able to produce in other fantasy formats for Week 6.

2 months ago: Julian Edelman Returns With Seven Receptions
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman caught seven passes for 57 yards in the Patriots triumph over the Colts 38-24. In his first game back from a four-game suspension, Edelman got right in the mix with a catch on the first offensive play of the game. The veteran did have one drop that could have gone for a huge gain but otherwise looked like the player that tore apart defenses in 2016. Edelman will have WR2/3 status in Week 6 against a Chiefs defense that has been getting torched in the passing game.

2 months ago: Julian Edelman Trained With Celtics
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman, who will return on Thursday night from his four-game suspension for performance-enhancing drugs, spent time training with the Boston Celtics during his time away from the team, according to sources. While it remains unclear how much Edelman will play on a short week in his season debut, he should be in good shape. Edelman's chemistry with quarterback Tom Brady could go a long way to putting him back into a significant role right away. There's more risk than ever with Edelman against the Colts, but he's still an option as a WR3/flex in PPR leagues.

2 months ago: Phillip Dorsett Loses Value With Return Of Julian Edelman
New England Patriots wide receiver Phillip Dorsett has been solid through the first month of the season, posting 16 catches for 165 yards and two touchdowns. When the offense is flowing Dorsett's way, the receiver has delivered with some excellent catches. But his value should take a hit with the return of quarterback Tom Brady's favorite target, Julian Edelman. Dorsett could easily stay involved in the game plan but already has one game with zero catches. Dorsett's value will be too volatile for fantasy lineups against a Colts defense that has allowed the second fewest fantasy points to receivers.

2 months ago: Julian Edelman Has Deceiving Matchup For TNF
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman will play in his first game since the 2016 season when the Patriots take on the Colts on Thursday. Edelman will go up against a Colts defense that has allowed the second fewest fantasy points to opposing receivers. The Texans, however, were able to burn the Colts in the air last week but Edelman may also have to shake off some rust. Edelman has three, 90-plus reception seasons in his career and has been one of quarterback Tom Brady's favorite targets. The Colts matchup, on paper, appears to be tough but Edelman should be in lineups against a secondary that just allowed 57 combined fantasy points to wide receivers in Week 4.

2 months ago: Julian Edelman Back From Suspension
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman returned Monday from his four-game suspension for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy. "You know, he hasn't changed a bit," said quarterback Tom Brady, who is one of Edelman's closest friends. "Four weeks off, he looks good." Edelman is also Brady's favorite target, but head coach Bill Belichick said "we'll see how it works out" in terms of whether Edelman plays on a short week against the Colts this Thursday. We'd be surprised if Edelman wasn't active this Thursday, but he could have his snaps limited as he gets back into football shape. If he's active, it would be hard to bench him in fantasy, but expect his ceiling to be a little lower.

4 months ago: Julian Edelman Not Quite In Shape
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman (knee) is still a work in progress in his recovery from a torn right ACL that kept him out all of last year. "I feel like I got to get my legs under me a lot more. I don't have my camp legs, I don't have football legs, and it's evident out there," Edelman said Friday after the team's eighth practice of training camp. Maybe it's a good thing that Edelman is suspended for the first four games of the season. With Brandin Cooks out of town, Edelman should be the overwhelming favorite for the majority of the passes aside from Rob Gronkowski. His four-game suspension knocks him down to more of a low-end WR2 in PPR leagues.

5 months ago: Julian Edelman's Four-Game Suspension Upheld
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman's four-game suspension was upheld by the NFL on Tuesday, meaning he'll miss the first four games of the season against the Texans, Jaguars, Lions and Dolphins. It's surely a blow to Edelman's 2018 fantasy value, but he should still be selected as a strong WR2 in PPR leagues. In his absence to begin the year, tight end Rob Gronkowski will see heavy usage, as will receiver Chris Hogan on the outside. Running back Rex Burkhead could see a boost in passing situations as well, while receivers Jordan Matthews, Malcolm Mitchell and Phillip Dorsett could see more usage.

6 months ago: Julian Edelman Tested Positive For Unrecognizable Substance
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman's positive test for performance-enhancing drugs was triggered by a substance that wasn't immediately recognizable, and scientists are currently analyzing it. It's unclear if this will affect his pending four-game suspension, but we'll keep you posted with any updates. As of now, expect Edelman to be banned for the first four games of the season, which obviously hurts his fantasy value in all formats.

6 months ago: Julian Edelman Facing Four-Game Suspension
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman is facing a four-game suspension for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances, according to league sources. The suspension is under appeal. That'd be a big blow to a player that missed all of last season due to injury. Edelman is a stud fantasy performer, especially in PPR leagues, when he's healthy and is one of quarterback Tom Brady's favorite targets. A suspension to start the year would mainly increase the fantasy value of receiver Chris Hogan, and tight end Rob Gronkowski would see even more targets, too.

7 months ago: Julian Edelman Limited At OTAs
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman (knee) was limited at organized team activities on Tuesday. He fielded punts but didn't take part in team drills. The Pats are easing Edelman into offseason workouts after he missed all of 2017 with his injury. The 32-year-old veteran has had 90-plus catches for the Patriots in three of the last four seasons, including a career-high 105 receptions in 2013. He's also recorded two 1,000-yard campaigns since 2013. He should return to being one of quarterback Tom Brady's favorite targets in the passing game and is a PPR stud.

10 months ago: Julian Edelman Expected To Be Ready For Training Camp
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman (knee) is expected to be ready for training camp. Edelman is five months removed from September ACL surgery. He will sit out OTAs and likely be limited early in training camp, but the Patriots are counting on him to be fully healthy for Week 1. Signed through 2019, Edelman should return as one of Tom Brady's top targets.

1 year ago: James White Could See More Targets This Season With Julian Edelman Out
New England Patriots running back James White ran the ball four times in the team's preseason win over Detroit. In total, he rushed for 25 yards and had one reception, good for eight yards. However, it was the injury to wide receiver Julian Edelman that could have a greater impact on White's fantasy standing as opposed to his preseason play against the Lions. With Edelman out for the season, White is rumored to not only see more targets from the backfield, but also from the slot as well. White has experience at this position and as a result, could see his fantasy stock rise if this plays out. White was the fourth most targeted running back in the league last season and with Edelman out, he should see similar numbers despite the overloaded Pats' backfield. He will serve a purpose this season, especially in PPR leagues. If he is available, especially towards the later part of drafts, grab him, especially if you need a running back. He will not produce efficient numbers consistently, but he will have some good weeks this season, especially if the matchup is good. We should have a better indication on how this situation will unfold during the team's preseason preseason finale against the New York Giants. Stay tuned.

1 year ago: Julian Edelman Done For The Season
The New England Patriots confirmed Saturday that wide receiver Julian Edelman (knee) tore his ACL in the preseason game Friday and will miss the entire 2017 season. It's a huge blow for the Patriots offense as they try to defend their title, especially considering Edelman was one of Tom Brady's most trusted aerial weapons in the clutch. Edelman's loss raises the fantasy values of Brandin Cooks and Chris Hogan the most, and Danny Amendola and Malcolm Mitchell will benefit as well. Rex Burkhead could also see more work out of the slot as a result, making him more of an attractive PPR target in the later rounds.

1 year ago: Julian Edelman May Be Facing Season-Ending Injury
The New England Patriots fear that wide receiver Julian Edelman (knee) suffered a torn ACL in the team's third preseason game Friday, according to a source. Edelman will receive an MRI exam Sunday to determine the full extent of the damage. The fact that it was a non-contact injury doesn't bode well for Edelman. If he is indeed done for the season, it's a huge loss for the Pats, as Edelman has proven to be one of Tom Brady's most trusted weapons in the passing game, especially in short-yardage, third-down situations. If he's out for the year, it'd boost Brandin Cooks' and Chris Hogan's fantasy stock the most. Hogan was a huge beneficiary of Edelman's injury Friday night, catching two touchdown passes and almost a third. Malcolm Mitchell and Danny Amendola would also see more opportunities in the passing game. Stay tuned for more details on Edelman's injury.

1 year ago: Julian Edelman Sent Home Early For Fighting
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman was sent home from training camp on Tuesday. The veteran receiver took exception to the physical play of the newly acquired Stephon Gilmore during drills, and a physical altercation ensued as a result. Gilmore was also sent home for his part of the incident. Both players should only see limited repercussions for the wrestling match, if any at all, and were only the victims of head coach Bill Belichick's "no fighting" policy. Edelman was a key offensive figure to the Pats' success last season with a career-best 1,106 receiving yards. He was also fourth in the league last season in receptions with 98 and was targeted heavily by quarterback Tom Brady all season. With the arrival of wide receiver Brandin Cooks, Edelman may see a small decrease in targets and receptions this season. However, if he can stay healthy, he will be a valuable addition to fantasy rosters this fall, especially in PPR leagues.

2 years ago: Julian Edelman Receives Extension
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman received a two-year, $11 million extension that includes $9 million in guarantees. At 5-foot-11, 200 pounds, Edelman is one of the most productive slot receivers in the NFL with the full trust of Tom Brady. The 31-year-old had 98 catches for 1,106 yards and three touchdowns in 2016. The TDs leave something to be desired, but he as reliable as they come in PPR leagues.

2 years ago: Julian Edelman Turns In Highlight-Reel Catch In Super Bowl LI
Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman caught five passes for 87 yards as he led all of New England's receivers in receiving yards in their absurd Super Bowl LI comeback victory. While JE's boxscore doesn't exactly jump off of the page, he did have the iconic catch of the game for the Pats. It was 1st-and-10 from their own 36 when Edelman came in from the hash mark toward the middle of the field to launch himself at a pile of three Falcons defenders, who formed a lift raft of sorts for Edelman to surf along as he secured the ball through some Atlanta defenders' legs. Edelman was also used on a flea flicker attempt, but Atlanta was on top of it and forced the drop from the receiver. It may not have been all sunshine and rainbows, but overall, the agile slot weapon had a good game with a very timely highlight-reel play. He notably had 342 receiving yards across the postseason, good for the most in the NFL in the 2016-17 season. Expect more of the same consistent production from Edelman in 2017.

2 years ago: Julian Edelman Heads To Super Bowl Red-Hot
Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman has been making his presence known throughout the playoffs, with 16 catches for 255 yards and a touchdown in New England's two victories thus far. His 109 yards after catch (YAC) make him one of three wide receivers to have crossed that mark in the 2016-17 postseason, as the slot man continues to make mincemeat of defensive backs once he has the ball in his hands. With the likely matchup in Super Bowl LI being against Atlanta's slot defensive back Brian Poole, Edelman should have the biggest advantage out of the New England receiver corps. Poole himself graded out at 79.4 per ProFootballFocus' rating system, but Edelman's 79.1 grade is given more weight by virtue of the wild 25% targets-per-route-run (T/R) metric. In other words, for every four routes Edelman runs, he sees the ball come his way. There's no reason to stray from Edelman in any DFS playoff formats, as Brady will likely pepper his favorite target yet again in the big game.

2 years ago: Julian Edelman Enters Conference Championship Game Red-Hot
Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman is coming off an eight-catch, 137-yard effort against Houston's stout secondary and now likely gets to tangle with Pittsburgh's Lawrence Timmons again. In Week 7, Pittsburgh left Timmons on Edelman regularly and New England's slot receiver collected nine catches for 60 yards, with most of the damage coming in the first half. The Pats had the game well in hand considering Landry Jones was at quarterback, so the passing game wasn't really called on in the second half. Look for Edelman to be a big weapon yet again in this AFC Championship game with Pittsburgh's run defense having stepped their game up lately. He'll be a popular pick in DFS formats, and with good reason.

2 years ago: Julian Edelman Should Remain Heavily Involved In Divisional Round
Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman put up his best game of the 2016 season in Week 17, as he caught eight balls for 151 yards and a touchdown to surpass 1,100 yards on the season. It also gave him 11-plus targets in six of his last seven games, so look for him to remain heavily involved against a strong Houston secondary in this Divisional Round matchup. With perimeter "threats" Michael Floyd and Chris Hogan unlikely to overpower the likes of A.J. Bouye and Johnathan Joseph, the Pats will need to lean on Edelman and their running backs to move the chains. The shifty slot receiver should be a solid DFS play for those in playoff tournaments.
