How the free NFL optimizer works

Our free NFL optimizer is a daily fantasy football optimizer that builds a complete lineup for DraftKings or FanDuel in a few seconds, with no login and no credit card. The NFL DFS optimizer ranks every player on the slate with DashRank™, our score for a player's chance of a big game, and fits the best combination under the salary cap.

  1. Pick your site and slate. Choose DraftKings or FanDuel, then the slate you're entering.
  2. Generate. The optimizer fills every roster spot with the strongest lineup it can fit under the cap.
  3. Make it yours. Lock the players you want, exclude the ones you don't, or swap any spot from a list of alternatives. Generate again and the optimizer fills the rest around your picks.
  4. Choose GPP or cash. GPP mode chases upside for big tournaments. Cash mode uses projected ownership for 50/50s and double-ups, once ownership projections are posted.

NFL DraftKings optimizer vs. FanDuel NFL optimizer

DraftKings and FanDuel use different salaries, roster spots and scoring, so a lineup built for one site won't work on the other. Pick your site at the top of the page and the NFL lineup optimizer switches to that site's player pool and format:

  • DraftKings: QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, FLEX and DST, with a $50,000 salary cap.
  • FanDuel: QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, FLEX and DEF, with a $60,000 salary cap.
  • Single-game slates on both sites, with a captain or MVP spot plus five flex spots.

Stacks and correlation in the NFL lineup optimizer

In daily fantasy football, players on the same team score together. When your quarterback throws a touchdown to your receiver, you get points twice. The NFL lineup optimizer flags this: a synergy icon appears when your quarterback and one of your receivers are on the same team.

It also warns you about bad correlation. If your defense is playing against an offensive player in your lineup, the optimizer marks it, because points for that player usually mean points against your defense. Use those flags as a guide when you lock players and generate again.

When the NFL optimizer has slates

DraftKings and FanDuel run NFL contests from September through the Super Bowl in February, and the NFL DFS optimizer has new slates every week, with the Sunday Main slate plus Thursday, Monday and showdown slates. In the off-season there are no slates to build from, but this page stays here, and the optimizer is ready again on the first day of the new season.

NFL DFS optimizer FAQ

Is the NFL optimizer really free?
Yes. You can generate a lineup on this page without signing up. Members also get the mass lineup generator, the late swap optimizer, saved lineups and the rest of our daily fantasy tools.

What's the difference between the DraftKings NFL optimizer and the FanDuel NFL optimizer?
Both sites use the same nine roster spots (QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, FLEX and a defense), but DraftKings uses a $50,000 salary cap and full point per reception scoring, while FanDuel uses a $60,000 cap and half point per reception. Salaries differ too, so the best daily fantasy football lineup is different on each site.

Does the NFL DFS optimizer work for Thursday, Monday and showdown slates?
Yes. Pick any slate from the slate menu, including Thursday and Monday night slates and single-game showdowns.

Why don't I see a lineup?
The optimizer needs a slate with games on it. On days with no NFL games, or in the off-season, there's nothing to build from yet. Try another sport below.
