The rookie running back finishes the season 2,028 yards from scrimmage (1,307 rushing, 721 receiving), averaging 5.0 yards per carry and hauling in 91 receptions with 15 total touchdowns. Barkley is already a superstar and will be a surefire top-3 selection in fantasy drafts in 2019.
6 months ago: Saquon Barkley Scores 14th Touchdown Of Season In Loss
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley racked up 77 yards from scrimmage, including his 14th total touchdown of the season, in the Giants loss to the Colts in Week 16. There was little space to run for the rookie most of the game but still managed to find the end zone. Barkley has enjoyed a fantastic season, totaling 1,886 yards from scrimmage with 87 receptions and averaging 4.9 yards per carry. Barkley will be a top play among fantasy players in the final week of the season despite a tough upcoming matchup against the Cowboys.
6 months ago: Saquon Barkley Shut Down By Titans
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley was held to only 31 yards on 14 carries in the Giants 17-0 loss to the Titans. Barkley added four receptions for 25 yards but the rookie laid a fantasy egg at the wrong time. Barkley had posted over 100 yards from scrimmage in 12 of his first 13 games this season but the Titans shut down the entire offense. Barkley needs to be in all lineups next week despite another tough matchup against a Colts defense that has not allowed a single 100-yard rusher all season.
6 months ago: Saquon Barkley Matchup-Proof For Week 15
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley will go up against a Titans defense in Week 15 that is allowing the fifth fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs. But at this point in the season, tough matchups no longer scare fantasy owners of the fantastic rookie. Barkley has least 100-plus yards from scrimmage in 12 of the 13 games played this season to go along with 13 total touchdowns. Barkley is about as bankable a fantasy option as any player in the league right now and heads into Week 15 with 1,753 all-purpose yards. Start Barkley with confidence.
6 months ago: Saquon Barkley Demolishes Redskins
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley ran all over the Redskins defense, posting 197 total yards from scrimmage with one touchdown in the Giants 40-16 win in Week 14. Barkley ripped through the line of scrimmage en route to a 78-yard touchdown run as the Giants put up 27 second-quarter points. The rookie ripped off huge runs the entire game and all the offense needed to do was put the ball into Barkley's hands. The dynamic runner is putting up one of the more impressive rookie fantasy seasons in recent memory.
6 months ago: Saquon Barkley Maintains RB1 Status Against Redskins
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley will look to once again deliver for fantasy owners in Week 14 against the Redskins. Washington's defense is allowing the 13th fewest fantasy points to opposing backs but Barkley still posted 111 all-purpose yards against them in Week 8. Barkley has posted more than 100 yards from scrimmage in 11 of his 12 games this season to go along with 12 touchdowns. The rookie running back is a must-start in fantasy for Week 14 and for the season has 954 rushing yards, 74 receptions and 602 receiving yards.
6 months ago: Saquon Barkley Says He's Fine
New York Giants rookie running back Saquon Barkley (shoulder) said he feels fine after injuring his shoulder in the Week 13 overtime win over the Bears. The 21-year-old rookie has been everything he was advertised as and more in his first season in the NFL. He has now rushed for over 100 yards in three straight games and has five touchdowns in that span. He'll be a no-doubt, must-start RB1 in Week 14 against the fading Redskins.
7 months ago: Saquon Barkley Totals 146 Yards In Overtime Win
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley carried the ball 24 times for 125 yards and added 21 receiving yards in the Giants 30-27 overtime stunner over the Bears. The fantastic rookie has himself another 100-plus yards from scrimmage game and put the offense on his back at times. Barkley wasn't able to hit the home run in the running game but gashed an elite Bears defense several times for substantial gains. The rookie running back now has at least 100 all-purpose yards in 11 of the 12 games this season. Barkley will be a must-start RB1 heading into Week 14.
7 months ago: Saquon Barkley To Face Tough Bears Defense
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley's dynamite season could hit a speed bump in Week 13 against a ferocious Bears defense. Chicago is allowing the fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs this season and they have allowed only three rushing touchdowns all season. They have held five different running backs with 10-plus carries against them to five or less fantasy points and only two runners have posted more than 100 yards from scrimmage. Barkley is coming off a fantastic first half of football in Week 12 but somehow got only four touches in the second half en route to the Giants blowing a 19-3 halftime lead. Barkley, however, is an RB1 option no matter the matchup with 829 rushing yards, 71 receptions, 581 receiving yards and 12 total touchdowns this season. The rookie should still be good for 10-15 fantasy points despite the tough matchup.
7 months ago: Saquon Barkley Delivers Two Touchdowns In Loss
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley carried the ball 13 times for 101 yards with seven receptions for 41 yards and two touchdowns in Week 12. Barkley got the Giants on the board early, catching a pass from quarterback Eli Manning for a 13-yard touchdown reception. The rookie then flashed his elite play-making ability, bursting through the defense for a 51-yard touchdown run to put the Giants up 19-3 in the second quarter. The Giants offense languished in the second half, blowing the lead and now have a record of 3-8. Barkley, however, has been fantasy gold all season with 12 total touchdowns and has now posted 100-plus yards from scrimmage in 10 of the first 11 games of his career. Fantasy owners beware, however, as the Giants host a white-hot Bears defense in Week 13.
7 months ago: Saquon Barkley Looks To Dominate Eagles Again
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley will look to dominate once again when the team takes on the Eagles in Week 12. Barkley rushed for 130 yards with nine receptions for 99 yards and one touchdown in Week 6 against the Eagles and Philadelphia's defense has slipped over the past few games. They have been torched by Ezekiel Elliott, Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara in recent weeks and Barkley will once again be the focus of the Giants offense. The rookie is having a phenomenal season with 758 rushing yards, 64 receptions, 540 receiving yards and 10 total touchdowns. Barkley is a premium RB1 and needs to be in all lineups for Week 12.
7 months ago: Saquon Barkley Dominates With Three Touchdowns
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley carried the ball 27 times for 142 yards, including three touchdowns, in the Giants 38-35 win over the Buccaneers. A dormant Giants offense came to life against a porous Tampa defense as Barkley got the Giants on the board right off the bat with a six-yard touchdown catch. Barkley added two rushing scores later in the game as he amassed 152 of the 359 total yards the Giants earned on offense. Barkley's rookie season has been one for the ages thus far and his best may still be on the horizon.
7 months ago: Saquon Barkley Has Prime Matchup Against Buccaneers
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley will go up against a Buccaneers defense in Week 11 that is allowing the ninth most fantasy points to opposing running backs. Barkley has scored 10-plus fantasy points in each of the first nine games of his career this season and now will face a Tampa defense that has allowed nine or more fantasy points to 10 different running backs. Tampa has allowed 14 total touchdowns to opposing running backs through nine games, making this a prime matchup for the electric rookie. Barkley will be a top-3 choice among running backs in Week 11 and for the season has 1,116 yards from scrimmage, 62 receptions and seven total touchdowns.
7 months ago: Saquon Barkley Now Has 100-Plus Yards In Eight Games
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley carried the ball 20 times for 67 yards and added 33 receiving yards in the Giants 27-23 win over the 49ers. Barkley's 100 yards from scrimmage now gives him 100-plus total yards in eight of the first nine games of his young career. Barkley has been fantastic all season but the 49ers were able to bottle him up somewhat in Week 10. For the season, the rookie has 586 rushing yards, 530 receiving yards, 62 receptions and seven total touchdowns. Even when he is quiet, Barkley still can post RB1 fantasy numbers.
7 months ago: Saquon Barkley Will Resume Bell-Cow Status Against 49ers
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley is fresh off of a bye week and will look to keep his fantastic rookie season going against the 49ers on Monday night. Through eight games this season, Barkley is averaging 4.7 yards per carry with 58 receptions, seven touchdowns and 1,016 yards from scrimmage. Barkley has been a fantasy force from the moment he has stepped on the field this season and will go up against a 49ers defense that has allowed the 11th most fantasy points to the running back position. They have allowed 10 touchdowns to opposing running backs and Barkley should be heavily featured in the game. After one week off, Barkley is right back at the top of the Week 10 fantasy rankings.
8 months ago: Saquon Barkley Posts 111 Yards From Scrimmage In Loss
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley managed only 38 rushing yards but added nine receptions for 73 yards in the Giants 20-13 loss to the Redskins. New York's offense with quarterback Eli Manning under center again struggled scoring points and Barkley was targeted often in the check-down passing game. Manning's limitations certainly benefit a running back like Barkley in the passing game but the offense simply cannot get the ball into the end zone on a consistent basis. Despite the anemic output, Barkley has been one of the best running back's in fantasy this season.
8 months ago: Saquon Barkley Has Stingy Week 8 Matchup
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley has lived up to the preseason hype, averaging 4.9 yards per carry, 49 receptions, 905 yards from scrimmage and seven touchdowns this season. The young superstar continues to dominate despite the Giants disappointing 1-6 start. Barkley will go up against a Washington defense that has allowed the eighth fewest fantasy points to opposing runners with only four touchdowns in six games. The Redskins have not allowed a single runner yet to amass more than 100 total yards in a game, something Barkley has done in six of his first seven games. The matchup isn't ideal but Barkley is one of the best fantasy players of the 2018 season. The rookie is an elite RB1 and needs to be in lineups in all formats.
8 months ago: Saquon Barkley's 100-Total Yard Streak Ends At Six Games
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley finished the team's Week 7 loss with 43 rushing yards, 51 receiving yards and one touchdown. The rookie has begun his career with six straight games of 100 yards from scrimmage or more. But Barkley finished six yards short in Week 7 despite adding nine receptions and scoring his seventh touchdown. Barkley continues to be a consistent force on an offense that has really struggled scoring points this season. The Giants season is seemingly toast but Barkley has emerged as a top fantasy choice, at any position, moving forward.
8 months ago: Saquon Barkley Has Dynamite MNF Matchup For Week 7
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley will have a fantastic matchup in Week 7 against a Falcons defense that is allowing the third most fantasy points to running backs this season. Barkley has lived up to his preseason hype through the first six games of his career, racking up 373 receiving yards, 438 rushing yards and six total touchdowns. He has registered at least 100 yards from scrimmage in each of the first six games of his career and is second on the team with 40 receptions. The Falcons defense has allowed four different running backs to post more than 100 total yards and six different runners have scored more than 18 fantasy points against them. Barkley will be a top option in fantasy for Monday night's matchup against Atlanta in Week 7.
8 months ago: Saquon Barkley Has A Night Against Philadelphia
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley was impressive against the Eagles on Thursday. The rookie did it all on the offensive end, finishing the night with 13 carries for 130 yards and a score in addition to nine receptions for 99 yards. With the team having issues on the offensive end outside of himself, Barkley will continue to be heavily involved moving forward and should maintain his fantasy efficiency next Monday night against the Falcons in Atlanta.
8 months ago: Fire Up Saquon Barkley Despite Tough TNF Matchup
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley appears to have avoided injury after limping to the sidelines following his second touchdown of the game against the Panthers. Barkley is not listed on the injury report and will now go up against an Eagles defense this Thursday night that has allowed the third fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs. They have not allowed more than 42 yards to an individual runner and only one total touchdown all season to the position. Barkley is off to a fantastic start to his rookie season and has at least 100 all-purpose yards in each of his first five games. Barkley needs to be in all lineups to kick off Week 6.
8 months ago: Saquon Barkley Not On Week 6 Injury Report
New York Giants rookie running back Saquon Barkley isn't on the initial injury report for Week 6 against the Eagles on Thursday night. He'll be ready to go. Barkley looked to injury his lower body on a touchdown late in the Week 5 loss to the Panthers, but apparently he's fine. The promising youngster has had over 100 yards from scrimmage in the first five games of his career. He's the real deal and is a must-start for fantasy owners.
8 months ago: Saquon Barkley Catches Two Touchdowns In Loss
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley caught four passes for 81 yards, including two touchdowns in the Giants last-second loss to the Panthers 33-31. Barkley managed only 48 rushing yards but got the Giants on the board by catching a pass from wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and sprinting 57 yards for the score. The rookie then caught a ball in the red zone and skied through the air for his second touchdown of the game. It turned out to be the final offensive play in the game for the Giants and Barkley was clearly shaken up after the play as he hobbled to the sideline. It is unclear what kind of injury Barkley suffered but was in pain as the game ended. His status should be monitored over the next few days.
9 months ago: Saquon Barkley Takes RB1 Status Against Panthers
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley is off to a strong start to his rookie season with 453 total yards and three touchdowns in his first four games. He already has 27 receptions out of the backfield and has been quarterback Eli Manning's safety valve in the passing game. Barkley will go up against a Panthers defense in Week 5 that has been beaten on the ground but has limited the production in the passing game for running backs. The Panthers have allowed only 68 receiving yards to opposing running backs through three games but Barkley is a different breed. Barkley again should be highly active in the passing game and will be a strong bet to post 100-plus total yards in Week 5.
9 months ago: Saquon Barkley Posts 100 Total Yards, One Touchdown
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley racked up 100 yards from scrimmage, including a late rushing touchdown in the Giants 33-18 loss to the Saints. Barkley rushed the ball 10 times for 44 yards and added six catches for 56 yards. The rookie's totals of 100-plus all-purpose yards and a touchdown is becoming habitual as the season heads into October. Barkley is quarterback Eli Manning's security blanket and should continue to see plenty of touches from the backfield and in the passing game moving forward. Barkley will be an RB1 despite a tough matchup on the road against the Panthers in Week 5.
9 months ago: Saquon Barkley An RB1 Despite Matchup Against Saints
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley will face a Saints defense that has been horrendous in the passing game but has allowed the third fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs. But Barkley has shown he is not your average back and has 353 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns through three games. The rookie has flashed the ability to shake tackles and make game-breaking plays from the Giants backfield. Despite the numbers, Barkley needs to be in all lineups as a player that can score from anywhere on the field. Barkley is a top-8 fantasy choice among running backs for Week 4.
9 months ago: Saquon Barkley Racks Up 117 Total Yards, One Touchdown
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley totaled 117 yards from scrimmage, including a 15-yard rushing touchdown, in the Giants 27-22 win over the Texans. Barkley got the Giants on the board with his second touchdown of the season in the first quarter. The rookie has shown a fantastic ability for game-breaking plays and has been every bit of what was advertised when he was drafted second overall in the draft. The sky is the limit moving forward for Barkley.
9 months ago: Saquon Barkley Has RB1 Status Against Texans
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley will go up against a Texans defense still trying to find its way in Week 3. Barkley has enjoyed an active first two games of his career, torching the Jaguars for a 68-yard touchdown and backing that up with 14 receptions against the Cowboys. It is not a secret that the Giants offense has really struggled out of the gate but Barkley's skills are as good as advertised. The Texans, through two games, have allowed the 14th fewest points to opposing running backs and it would not be an overreaction to state that the Giants are already in must-win mode. Barkley should be a top-8 play in fantasy for Week 3.
9 months ago: Saquon Barkley Posts 14 Receptions In Loss
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley caught 14 passes for 80 yards and added 28 rushing yards in the Giants loss to the Cowboys in Week 2. Barkley now has back-to-back games of 100-plus yards from scrimmage in his first two NFL games. The rookie saw 16 targets in the game and was quarterback Eli Manning's safety valve as the Cowboys defense picked up six sacks. Barkley has now shown his versatility and capability to do pretty much anything on the football field. The Giants hope for better results next week against the Texans in Houston.
9 months ago: Saquon Barkley Dazzles With 68-Yard Touchdown
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley racked up 128 all-purpose yards and one touchdown in the Giants 20-15 loss to the Jaguars. It was tough sledding early for the highly-touted rookie until he ripped off an impressive 68-yard run for his first professional touchdown. He finished the game with 106 yards on 18 carries. Barkley has the type of talent that can hit a home run every time he touches the ball and showed off his game-breaking ability right out of the gate. After facing a tough Jaguars defense, the Giants could become one of the more explosive offensive units this season.
9 months ago: Saquon Barkley Has Tough Matchup For Week 1
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley will make his NFL debut this Sunday but could be in line for a rude awakening. The first round pick has been battling a hamstring injury during the preseason but that is nothing compared to battling the Jacksonville Jaguars defense. The new-look Giants offense will be tested early against a Jaguars run defense that allowed only seven rushing touchdowns in 2017 and gave up the 11th fewest fantasy points overall to opposing runners. Barkley has the talent to become a transcendent offensive player in the NFL but his first game may feature some bumps in the road. Barkley absolutely needs to be in all fantasy lineups for Week 1 but expectations need to be tempered out of the gate.
10 months ago: Saquon Barkley Ready For Full Workload
New York Giants rookie running back Saquon Barkley (hamstring) said he's ready for a full workload in Week 1 against the Jaguars. Barkley was held out of some preseason games as a precaution, but his injury was never that serious. The rookie was a first-round pick in most fantasy drafts and is a must-start in his NFL debut, despite the tough matchup.
10 months ago: Saquon Barkley Returns To Practice Monday
New York Giants rookie running back Saquon Barkley (hamstring) returned to practice on Monday and blew past linebacker Ray-Ray Armstrong on a wheel route in seven-on-seven drills. Barkley is just fine and has plenty of time to be ready for the Week 1 opener. The talented rookie will be this team's bell-cow running back, and he's worth a selection in the back end of the first round of fantasy drafts.
10 months ago: Saquon Barkley Returns To Practice
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley returned to practice for the first time in almost a week on Wednesday. Barkley had been sidelined with a hamstring injury but he was back on the field doing individual drills much to the delight of head coach Pat Shurmur. The number two overall pick in the 2018 draft is expected, in many fantasy circles, to go in the top-6 of upcoming drafts. The recent injury may affect the amount of preseason action Barkley will see the rest of August but appears to trending in the right direction for Week 1.
10 months ago: Saquon Barkley Sits Out Sixth Straight Practice
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley missed practice for the sixth straight day with a tweaked hamstring on Tuesday. Barkley was not in uniform for the team's second preseason game last Friday and the team is being ultra cautious with their top draft pick. Barkley has the talent and skill-set to deserve the top-6 fantasy status he currently is getting in most rankings. At this time, the Giants will do everything they can to get their rookie up to 100% before Week 1 and should be ready to roll when the lights come on. His draft status should not be altered because of this injury for now.
10 months ago: Saquon Barkley Not Playing Friday
New York Giants rookie running back Saquon Barkley (leg) will not play in the team's second preseason game against the Lions on Friday. The Giants are just being cautious with the second overall pick in the draft. He will be fine for Week 1 and will be the workhorse back in his first season in blue. Barkley is going near the end of the first round as an RB1 in fantasy drafts.
10 months ago: Saquon Barkley Sitting Out Of Practice
New York Giants rookie running back Saquon Barkley (hamstring) is sitting out of practice for the third straight day on Thursday. The Giants are being extra cautious with their stud rookie, and it's probably unlikely that he'll play in the second preseason game on Friday. Barkley was as advertised in the first preseason game and is worth a look as an RB1 in the first round of fantasy drafts.
10 months ago: Saquon Barkley Sits Out Tuesday
New York Giants rookie running back Saquon Barkley (hamstring) did not practice on Tuesday as he deals with a hamstring injury. He suffered a mild strain of his left hamstring while catching a pass in the preseason opener last Thursday. The second overall pick of the draft should be fine, and he looked electric in his limited playing time last week. Head coach Pat Shurmur said Barkley is day-to-day and promised to be "smart with him" as the week progresses. Barkley is the unquestioned first overall pick in rookie-only drafts and should be taken as an RB1 in redraft leagues, too. Don't be surprised if the Giants hold him out of the preseason game this week against the Lions.
